My previous article sparked a conversation that made me realize this topic needs a little more explanation. I pray for the right words from the Spirit, so that as many eyes as possible may be opened.
The true Church of Christ is not a building, an organization, or a single denomination. This article is an invitation to look beyond human-made divisions and return to what Christ Himself taught: love, unity, and the work of the Holy Spirit. When we learn to recognize Christ in one another, we also begin to understand that God is not bound by human systems, but moves wherever hearts genuinely seek Him.
The Greatest of These Is Love – Part 2
The Christian earthly denomination. Which one is the True Church?
None of them, and at the same time, all of them.
At the core of the faith, Christian churches agree on the essentials. There is one triune God: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. All of Christian churches preach the gospel according to Christ’s command and spread the good news. In other words, they all agree on one thing: every one of them speaks about the same Christ.
The denominations also agree that Christ sent them into the work of the gospel, just as we can read from the Lord’s own words in the Gospel of Matthew: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” (28:19–20 NIV)
And Surely I Am With You Always, to the Very End of the Age
Considering how all these denominations have spread across the world, they must also understand the events that took place in the house of Cornelius. They are described in Acts chapter 10. In the final part of the chapter, the Holy Spirit is poured out upon the Gentiles (those who were not circumcised).
According to Scripture, Peter did not ask the Holy Spirit to come upon these believers. The Spirit — God Himself — chose to come upon those who truly believed. Acts 10:44–48 (NIV) says:
“While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message. The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on Gentiles. For they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God. Then Peter said, ‘Surely no one can stand in the way of their being baptized with water. They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have.’ So he ordered that they be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.”
Yet somehow this teaching has been buried beneath denominational pride. Many churches proclaim that their denomination alone possesses the Holy Spirit. And yet here we are clearly shown that God pours out the Holy Spirit upon true believers regardless of denomination or ritual.
In every single Christian denomination, there is at least one true believer in Christ. And if that is true, then in every single Christian denomination, the Holy Spirit is present as well!
God’s Will, Not Man’s
Praise and glory be to God for His great wisdom! He has allowed countless different denominations to exist, giving each person a way to live out their faith in a way that reflects who they are. The truth is that God knows we need help. Living in this world is not easy. Yet we Christians are not of this world, we are of Him.
The great wars taught entire nations that faith is not about rituals. Yet today’s earthly Christian denominations still argue over them. Christ’s message was specifically that sacrifice and rigid routine lead only to hollow faith. A kind of performance without a heartbeat.
Modern denominations are like quarreling children fighting over toys. And the Father stands beside them saying: “This is my command: Love each other.” (John 15:17 NIV)
One Church, Which Is Christ
To quote Paul: “For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body — whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free — and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.” (1 Corinthians 12:13 NIV)
Whatever earthly Christian denomination you may belong to, I hope you are there as a follower of Christ. I hope you recognize the movement of the Spirit and understand not to follow man or the world.
And if your denomination teaches that it alone has authority over the Holy Spirit… no human being has authority over God. Not over the Father, the Son, or the Holy Spirit. God is not bound to any earthly institution. He is everywhere, and He loves every soul.
A True Christian
When you live under the guidance of the Spirit, you begin to understand what true love is. You understand that you are where God has led you, and you learn to pray for that same guidance for others.
Such a Christian rejoices in God’s work within their own life, and such a Christian rejoices over every new believer, no matter the denomination. Because to be a Christian is, above all, to love everyone.
Christ Is the Only Way
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5 NIV)
It is time to shake the scales from your eyes. It is time to awaken the shepherds who have become blind. I pray for the reader, that the Divine will may be done in your life.
And I dare to say boldly that His will is for you to come to understand the true nature of Christ. His language is peace and love. So speak the same language, and the world will recognize you as a Christian because you are in Him.
In the words of Christ Himself from the Gospel of John (13:34–35 NIV):
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Yeshua,
Go in peace and love one another ✨💛
Ultimately, There is Only One True Church
The greatest calling of a Christian is not to defend a denomination, but to reflect the love of Christ to the world. The Holy Spirit does not belong to people or to any earthly institution, but to God alone. True faith is revealed through love, peace, and the ability to rejoice in God’s work within others as well. In the end, there is only one true Church — Christ Himself. ✝️
