God’s Word Always Comes True – Even When We Don’t Understand How

Many of us have received a promise or a word from God without being able to see beforehand how it would come to pass. We often imagine we know what God’s work should look like, but He works in ways that surpass our understanding. This is the story of one moment on my own journey of faith when I once again witnessed that God’s Word never returns empty. He brings it to pass, sometimes in ways we could never have imagined ourselves.

When God Confirms the Word He Has Given

A week ago, I received a beautiful vision. I was excited and thanked the Lord for it. As I usually do, I asked Him to confirm what He had shown me. The following day, that confirmation came through a prophet. I listened to his message with a heart full of love and gratitude.

Then suddenly I heard the words,

“Just when you are about to give it all up, then…”

Excuse me… what?!

And this was supposed to happen within the next seven days.

I was confused. Despite everything that had happened over the past year and a half, there would apparently be a day within the coming week when I would be “about to give up.” Both God and I know that this is simply impossible.

But the Lord’s Word will come to pass. I cannot prevent it, nor would I ever want to. So I simply decided to watch the coming week with curiosity.

The Day God’s Word Began to Come True

Yesterday, it happened.

Whatever my God did, He created circumstances in which it became possible on some level.

As I write this, I can’t help but smile because I know that at no point was I actually about to give up on anything. Yet those kinds of thoughts drifted through my mind, and I watched them like clouds passing overhead. As I’m writing this, my worst frustration and anger have already begun to fade. Last night, however, I was simmering.

I’m a woman, so the situation started under what you could call the most favorable circumstances: the beginning of my monthly cycle. My mind felt completely empty. The brain fog was unbelievable, and the physical pain was far more intense than usual. I ended up curled up on the couch for the entire day, trying to find a position that hurt a little less, without success.

Thankfully, I had no appetite, because I wouldn’t have had the strength to prepare a meal anyway.

Social Media and God’s Guidance in the Midst of the Storm

At some point during the day, I ended up spending a little time on social media. As it happened, the first and only video I watched that day created a conflict with my personal values. I wrestled with it and prayed about it throughout the day, but I received no clear answer.

Eventually, my inner dialogue came to an abrupt stop, and I was filled with sorrow. My physical pain and exhaustion were clearly affecting my state of mind. Even in that moment, I recognized it and said it out loud to the heavenly ones.

The next moment, I noticed that my thoughts had become deeply weary. They were actually saying,

“I’m going to delete everything. I’m giving this up. I can’t do this anymore.”

At the very same time, both my rational mind and my emotional self responded to those thoughts, saying, “Go ahead and make all the noise you want, but none of this is actually going to happen.” So I began to weep.

At that point I started praying and asking the heavenly ones what was happening and why. They brought the prophet’s words back to my mind and filled me with peace and understanding.

But only for a moment.

Because the next thing I knew, I was angry. I understand that the Lord’s Word must come to pass, and I have surrendered myself to seeing it fulfilled. But what I do not understand is this:

Why did such a word have to be spoken? Why did something like this have to happen?

Something that, from my own perspective, wasn’t really true at all. I was never actually about to give up on anything. Those thoughts were given to me so that the word would come to pass.

And it did.

His will was done.

God’s Word Comes True Even When We Don’t Understand It

Today I have continued praying about all of this, and one by one my saints have been helping me see the bigger picture. I am grateful for Job, because we do not have to like everything that happens to us, nor are we meant to.

So today I asked whether we could even write an article about what had happened. So that this would not remain just another private moment between the two of us. And here we are.

On this narrow path, yesterday and today have been like a dense thicket bordering an open field. Yeshua walks ahead of me, holding my hand. He stepped through the last wall of branches first, causing them to bend as He passed, only to snap back into my face.

The path did not disappear. Our journey did not stop. But the sting left behind by those branches lingered on my skin, and quite literally got on my nerves.

His will is always done!

His Word always comes true. This has been proven countless times before, and here is yet another example.

I should probably share this article with that prophet as well. Then again, he knows the truth just as well as I do.

God Did It

Wherever you are, be there. Every emotion is allowed. Questions will arise, and your reactions are part of being human. Nothing is being demanded of you. Your path is being built around you.

Simply follow Christ. He will lead you wherever your journey is taking you.

What Peter Teaches Us About God’s Will

Another example from the past has been on my mind today.

Today is Transfiguration Sunday. Once again, during the church service, I heard the passage from the Gospel of Mark (9:2–8), where Peter, seemingly speaking foolishly, told Yeshua, Elijah, and Moses that he would build a shelter for each of them. His words have been considered foolish because Elijah and Moses had already been taken into heaven and therefore had no need for an earthly dwelling.

Yet God Himself answered Peter, saying, “This is My beloved Son. Listen to Him.”

To those watching, Peter appears to be speaking out of fear without thinking. In reality, however, his calling surfaced at the very moment of Yeshua’s transfiguration. Something within Peter sensed that the time was near, so he responded with the desire to build. Of course, he had no understanding of what he was actually meant to build, so his mind reached for the only rational solution it could find.

Following Christ Doesn’t Always Make Sense

This is what our path as followers of Christ looks like.

It is filled with moments that simply do not make sense to us. We may even feel foolish, or like traitors, just as Peter did when he denied Yeshua three times. But that was never the point. The point was that the Lord’s Word would come to pass.

Something so great that it seems completely impossible, even contrary to reason, is not impossible for God. In moments like these, He fills us with understanding and faith, according to each person’s need and the path He has prepared for them.

Peter became the rock from which I now stand. His faith, his failures, and God’s work in his life made both this article and my own faith possible.

And as you can see, despite yesterday’s events, I did not delete everything. Even so, it still had to happen, because God had said it would.

Trust God’s Guidance Even When You Don’t Understand Everything

The Bible is full of people who surrendered themselves to the will of God. They did not always understand what He was doing or why. They experienced fear, uncertainty, sorrow, and even resisted what lay before them. Yet God’s Word was fulfilled in their lives.

This path is not easy, nor is it only beautiful. At times it breaks us. At times it wounds us. Some might even say that it is not for reasonable people. But I would say it is precisely for them.

Because this is not about me. It is about God’s will and about every person who will one day encounter this testimony.

So walk forward with confidence, trusting Christ. Knowing that you are not alone with your scratches and bruises. There are many of us.

And above all, keep walking.

For God’s Word always comes true.

Not a single step under His guidance is ever wasted.

Let’s flourish together. 💖
