Give God Time and Space to Do What He Does

Early this morning, I was able to enjoy a new lesson as I followed a Lutheran church service and was reminded of a mother and her child who disappeared at the age of twelve.

Yeshua Communicates With Each of Us in His Own Way

Yeshua communicates with each of us in His own way. In words we are able to understand. I have spoken about this before, but repetition is the mother of learning. It is important to learn to know yourself and to find that inner peace. That is the indicator we need in our lives. Regardless of faith. For peace is what signals to the mind and the subconscious that we are safe. Standing by our own values, on our own path.

The Child Brought to the Temple and the Heavenly Plan

Today’s liturgy spoke of the time when Mary and Joseph brought their firstborn to the temple to be consecrated to the Lord. In my mind, I saw a young couple getting used to parenthood and to living with a Heavenly child. Next, an image arose in my mind of twelve-year-old Jesus sitting in the sanctuary surrounded by teachers. Curious, asking questions and challenging the thinkers. I asked in my mind what this was meant to tell us. And at that very moment, a sentence echoed in my head that has repeated several times over the past day: Give God time and space to do what He does.

The Disappearance of Jesus and a Lesson in Trust

In the Gospel of Luke we are told about Jesus’ disappearance (Luke 2:41–52). I am not a mother myself, but if I have understood correctly, when a child is born there is no instruction manual included. It is left to the parents to figure out the path themselves. This passage from the Bible tells us how the parents lose their child for several days. And when they finally find the boy, he wonders at his parents’ distress and their lack of understanding. How could he have been lost, when he had been exactly where he was supposed to be. In the right place at the right time.

Mary knew from the very beginning whose child she was expecting. She knew whose son she would raise. In the end, once the panic had subsided, Mary surely understood what Jesus meant by His words. The child had been given a mission, and nothing would happen to him except according to the Heavenly will. Mary and Joseph did not choose the moment when Jesus was led into the temple. Instead, the Heavenly plan unfolded in its own time. And in its own way.

Children and Life in God’s Hands

On that day, Mary received the first recorded reminder that a child does not belong to the parent. Children are in God’s hands, in His grace. As are we all, regardless of age. Each of His children carries out their own Heavenly mission. The most significant difference in our lives is whether we allow that plan to unfold or not. “Give God time and space to do what He does.”

Growth, Pain, and Letting Go of Control

In my most recent articles, I have raised the painful points of God’s will. It is not about us, and growth is sometimes painful. It is human to abandon the process and turn toward the safe, wide road. Surely Mary did not get through those days without tears when she realized her child was missing. How many spoken prayers must have filled those days. How many apologies, when you have lost something that belongs to God. In the end, you receive an answer that reminds you that you are only human. You do not control everything. If we are precise, once you surrender to Heavenly work, you no longer control anything. Everything is in God’s hands.

Give God’s Plan Time to Unfold

So whatever seed He has planted within you, know that it is there for a reason. You do not need to do anything except give Him time and space to do what He does. Meanwhile, you can simply flourish as you are. As His perfect creation within you 💖
