Jesus’ Suffering and Season Six of The Chosen
This week I came across an interview in which Jonathan Roumie spoke about the sixth season of The Chosen. That season deals with the suffering and death of Jesus (whom Roumie portrays). Many fans have said that they do not believe they will be able to watch that season at all. In the clip, the man, in his usual calm way, reassures fans that they will be able to support Jesus in this, just as He supports us in our lives.
When the Same Message Repeats – The Song The Good Shepherd and Yeshua’s Suffering
Heavenly lessons never develop in a vacuum. So a couple of days later I received a notification that TribeSong had released a new single, The Good Shepherd (video at the end of the article). I fell in love with it so much that I listened to it for twenty-four hours straight. However, in the song there is a line that sings, “cruel nails driven deep into your hands and feet,” and again I found myself reflecting on Yeshua’s suffering. And the third accumulation was a clip from the filming of The Chosen, showing what happened behind the scenes during the filming of that season. You can surely imagine how heavy the situation must have been for the entire crew.
Mary – The Mother Who Gave Up Everything
All these events that were brought before me within one week created a new perspective. Mary. The woman who had one child in her life. A son whom the mother accompanied to sacrifice, watching the suffering from the side. Only knowing that it was for a greater good. So what did Mary give up? She did not only give up her child; she gave up an entire bloodline. From our human perspective, she gave up an earthly future. I found myself wondering whether I could do the same if the Heavenly One asked.
When Calling Requires You to Surrender Everything
Then on Friday I received a Heavenly calling, a request to surrender all the rest into Yeshua’s hands. The decision was easy. The calling, Yeshua, first. No doubt about it. I love this work of mine, and it is so valuable that words are not enough to describe it. Especially now that I have begun to receive feedback about how my articles have affected the lives of readers ❤️ I have already devoted myself to my work and placed everything into His hands. As I said before, when one has answered His calling, one no longer controls anything in one’s life.
The Pain of Letting Go
This time, however, it was not an ordinary request. Rather, it arose from my own reflection. Whether I truly know how to put things in the right order of importance, or whether my vision might blur in the future. I suppose I answered my own question. Yay! Except that, The area I gave up… The one I practically said goodbye to. It is truly painful to let go of it. It breaks my heart, even though I know it is a ridiculously small sacrifice in the greater scale.
Mary’s Reminder: In Heaven, Souls Are Counted
So Mary came to support me. A Heavenly mother. She who, in her lifetime, carried only one child. She came to remind me that the matter is not about the number of bodies, but the number of souls. In her lifetime she had one child, but in Heaven countless ones. As humans we are incomplete; we do not see clearly. So when I give up one soul along my journey, there is a greater purpose for it. With this article I therefore tell that I have surrendered absolutely everything into Yeshua’s hands. In my mind I can still see images of Abraham, Isaac, and the ram. But the more tears fall, the calmer I become, and that image fades away.
There Is a Time for Grief
Grieving is important because it helps us release our emotions outward. I absolutely do not want to become bitter about this chain of events, whatever the outcome may be. Even if a ram were to appear and I were allowed to keep my sacrifice, I do not want to experience this moment as pointless or misleading. On the contrary. The Divine ones once again came to my aid when something troubled my mind. I no longer need to wonder whether I could do it. As soon as the tears dry, I will again be able to ask, “What are we doing today?” But now. In this moment, it is a time for grief.
